Swindon Town have been handed a major boost ahead of this evening’s League One Play-Off Final clash with Preston North End at Wembley Stadium with both Thompson brothers fit enough for inclusion.
Nathan Thompson – who limped off with a torn hamstring in the 5-5 draw with Sheffield United last week – has made a miraculous recovery to lead his boyhood club out at the home of English football.
His younger sibling Louis is named amongst the subs after being out of action since tearing his shoulder ligaments back in February, with the influential midfielder now having the chance to bid a final farewell to the Town fans before he heads back to parent club Norwich City in the summer.
In total, Town Boss Mark Cooper has made two changes to his Starting XI, with Harry Toffolo replacing Sam Ricketts at left-wing back after recovering from a dead leg, whilst Jermaine Hylton also drops to the subs with Jon Obika chosen to lead the line alongside Michael Smith.
Preston have named an unchanged Starting XI for today’s Play-Off Final, but Simon Grayson has been forced to alter his personnel on the bench after Callum Robinson was recalled by parent club Aston Villa – Kyel Reid comes in.
