Swindon Town’s late push for a play-off place continued in earnest on Tuesday evening courtesy of a comfortable 2-0 victory against Doncaster Rovers at The County Ground.
Jon Obika brought his seven-game drought in front of goal to an end in emphatic fashion by notching either side of the break to make it four wins on the trot for the in-form Robins.
The former Tottenham Hotspur man opened the scoring on the stroke of half-time after tucking home from Michael Doughty’s glanced header.
Town were well on top and forced a string of fine saves from Donny keeper Thorsten Stuckmann, but the big German was powerless to prevent Obika from adding his second of the night just past the hour mark.
And there was still time for some late drama with the visitors being reduced to ten men, Richard Chaplow ordered to take a early shower after picking up two bookings.
