Swindon Town put their Easter woes behind them after coming back from a goal down to salvage a share of the spoils in a 1-1 draw with Fleetwood Town on Saturday.
The Robins were looking to get back on track after shipping in ten goals in just two games last weekend – including a 6-0 drubbing at the hands of Scunthorpe United – but found themselves trailing with just six minutes on the board thanks to Wes Burns’ header.
Fleetwood dominated large parts of the game but were unable to muster up a second goal, hitting the crossbar and the post on numerous occasions during a frantic passage of play after the interval.
And the visitors were soon punished as Town hauled themselves level just past the hour mark, leading scorer Nicky Ajose in the right place at the right time to turn home Michael Doughty’s cross.
Louis Thompson thumped an effort against the crossbar for the hosts and both David Henen and Devante Cole went close for Fleetwood in the game’s closing stages, but in the end both sides were forced to settle for a point each.
Richard Wintle was in attendance at The County Ground to snap the best of the action for SteeleDavis Sports.
